April 13 is the International Day of Pink. This is a day of action for communities across the world to remain united in celebrating equity, diversity and inclusion while raising greater awareness of the need to stop homophobic, transphobic and all forms of bullying. Students will engage in learning activities about forms of bullying at school and have discussions about equity, diversity and inclusion.
Students may choose to wear pink on April 13. Students are encouraged to be creative and reuse items they find at home. For example, students may select to wear an item of clothing with pink in it, a pink shirt or create their own item to wear using pink construction paper. School staff will provide a pink item such as a ribbon for students to wear if they would like upon arrival at school so there is no need to purchase anything new for students to participate.
